'A Soldiers Dream'

It was when I was watching a war themed documentary which made me ponder to myself, what is behind the mind of those soldiers who is in the midst of chaos, what drove them on their quest to conquer for their masters. Every cut on the soldier, every wound engraved on their bodies, lies hidden within is the wish of peace and tranquility. To disregard the cried and blasts of terror, to close ones eyes and to wield their weapon against their brothers tainted with yet another promise of freedom, these soldiers in their depth of heart wishes the end of their conquest upon every sunrise and every daybreak, to go back to what in their memory called home. Then I suddenly realize that in every war lies a promise, by their leader to their people who held dearly to themselves during the times of darkness. In this promise of peace and freedom, the soldiers obediently fought for their leaders.
